Do Not Harden Your Heart

“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Today, if you hear his voice,do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert,” (Psalm 95:6-8)

Let The Light shine through you

1 John 3:24
Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us

1 John 1:5
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in Him there is no darkness at all

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

1 John 3:9
No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

1 Peter 1:23
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.

John 3:30
He must increase, but I must decrease.

John 1:4
Life was in Him, and that life was the light of men

He is the Light, and the Light is in you, therefore It must shine to be effective. Matthew5:16 promises us that when this Light shines in us, It brings Glory to the Father. How do you get this Light to shine? Since what you have received (Light) is a seed and an Imperishable/Eternal One, It therefore means there’s a tree/forest hidden in that seed, but the only way a seed will grow to a tree/forest, is if the soil it’s planted in, is a good manufacturing soil, and also it needs to be ‘properly’ watered according to it’s kind of seed, e.g: some seeds are watered by the rain, others need to be watered by man daily. But this One is imperishable/Eternal , therefore it needs watering everytime (every second) . How do you water it? Through the Word of God and the presence of the Holy Spirit everytime, this is how you water It.
Now, about the soil, this is you (Genesis2:7), you are the manufacturing soil for the Seed. How you live will reflect what’s in you (the mouth speaks from the abundant of the heart), if you live this Seed that you have received in you, this will then make you a ‘good manufacturing soil’ ( a Doer of the Word). This (John3:30) is how He increases and you decrease, by you allowing Him to be the abundant overflow of your life, when they look at you they see Jesus, and this is when the scripture in Matthew5:16 comes to effect, In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Living for God ( a new life )

Living for God is what we need to practice daily as we grow spiritually. We are to hate sin, change our attitudes and love righteousness. We no longer live our lives like the unsaved no more. But we live to please Him, who has branded us in His blood.

So what does it mean to live for God?

It means no more lusting, no more drunkeness, orgies, carousing, debauchery and idolatry. (1Peter4)

Definitions:

Lust: strong sexual desires
Orgies: wild party with sexual activity
Carousing: have a lively drinking party
Debauchery: excessive sensual indulgence
Idolatry: worshipping idols/things

Now the bible says we must leave these things behind and focus on living for God. We are to be holy as He is holy.

Holy: morally and spiritually perfect
Moral: good or bad human character or behaviour

We are to be like Him as He is holy, that means no more lusting, no liars, no deceit, no pride, no hatred, no judging others but to love one another as we love ourselves.

When the Lord is your Shepherd, what will happen in your life?

When the Lord is your Shepherd, what will happen in your life?

First, you will live a day at a time. "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life" (v6). Psalm 23 talks about all the days of our lives, and they are lived one day at a time when the Lord is our Shepherd. Someone has said that the average person is being crucified between two thieves- the regrets of yesterday and the worries of tomorrow. Consequently, he can't enjoy today.
Second, when the Lord is your Shepherd, you listen for His voice. In John 10:27 the Lord Jesus said, "My sheep hear My voice." The Shepherd does not drive his sheep from behind. Rather, He calls them from ahead. How do we listen to the Lord's voice? Through the Word of God.
Third, when the Lord is your Shepherd, you must expect changes. You may have green pastures and still waters. Then you go through the valley of the shadow of death. You have a table in the presence of your enemies. Then you live in the house of the Lord (heaven) forever. You will experience changes in life. Expect them; don't be afraid of them. When you follow the Shepherd, the future is your friend, because the Lord is going before you. Live one day at a time, following the Shepherd, and you won't have to be afraid. Some people fail to adapt to life's inevitable changes. As a believer, you need never fear the future. Trust the Shepherd, who goes before you, and listen to His Word. Commit this day to the Lord and thank Him for His guidance."

Knowing His word is not enough!

Today we will be looking into the book of Matthew 7:15 to 20. Here Christ speaks about false prophets, those who use His word, call upon Him but do not do His will.

15"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

He teaches us how to identify false prophets, He says we will notice them by their fruit, by their actions. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. He says "A tree that does not produce fruit will be chopped and thrown into the fire."

What does this mean?
It means that those who speak the word to be seen as goodbut do not live by His will/word are false believers thus their actions will reveal their true self. Yesterday we spoke about the will of the Father, and the will is for us to love one another and obey and love His commands as our Lord and saviour. We have been set apart for Him only, to bring glory to Him. Now if we only speak the words of the bible so fluently but do not believe them and do them, then we are false prophets too.

The next verses explains why we have to do the will and true prophets. Matthew 7:21-23.

21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!

To do His will is to do what He has told you to do without question. It is very important that we do the will of the Father in Heaven so we can relate to Christ as we saw in yesterdays blog, that His brothers and sisters and mother are those who do the will of the Father in Heaven. Knowing the word is not enough we have to practice living it everyday. We can start by loving the people we hate the most, praying for our enemies, giving because it is our nature and making sure His word is active in our lives. We are created to do good so He can be glorified by men when they see us living out His will on earth.

Prayer:
Our Father in heaven may your name be glorified, honoured and most respected
May your kingdom last forever in heaven and on earth.
We lift you up Lord as you deserve all the honour.
We thank you for todays word and that you have opened our ears to hear your will and that we may be doers of it.
We thank you that you know our needs before we do and you supply everything according to your will.
Thank you Father that your glory and your will is revealed in us and becomes active.
Thank you for another day in your presence, may You be glorified always
Praises belong to you, we cannot thank you enough for your glorious works,
May your Kingdom last forever on earth as it is in heaven, amen.

What is the will of the Father in Heaven?

Today we take a look at what is doing the will of the father. Taken from Matthew 12:46 -48

Jesus was told that his mother and brothers were waiting outside wanting to speak to him, but Jesus answered,"Who is my brother and my mother". Then pointing to His disciples He says "these are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father that person is My brother, My sister and  mother."

In that passage of scripture we see that in order to relate to Christ we have to do the will of the Father, and this is being in relationship with Christ.

Definitions:
Relationship: connect to another, common background
Will : strong desire, intention, legal written directions, faculty by which a person decides what to do
Faculty :: authority,authorization

So this means that, in order  to connect to Christ or have a common backgroung to be related to Him and be one, we have to do the will of the Father. So what are the Father's intentions and strong desires? What is it that He wants us to do and live by? Is it or us to love one another and love Him with all our hearts and souls and our strength? Is it to live our lives entirely for Him? Is it for us to know how His Kingdom functions so we can have on earth again? Is it for us to hate evil and love good and seek His Kingdom and His righteousness?

My friend i believe it is all these things that we are to do and live by, starting by loving one another like we love ourselves for we all love God and our Lord and savior, so why can't we love one another?

What Defiles a Man?

Mark 7:21
Christ speaks about evil hearts and what defiles a man within the chapter. He says what defiles a man is what comes out of his heart and not what he puts in his mouth.
"For from within, out of people's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immoralities, evil actions, deceit, lewdness, stinginess, blasphemy, pride and foolishness."

-The first thing that defiles a man is his evil thoughts that produce all the other evil actions. The Lord started with evil thoughts, why? Because as a man thinketh so is he.
This is powerful, because we become what we think. In most cases what we think is influenced by what we've heard.

-Words are a powerful tool that we are to use to become the people HE has called us to be. All we have to do is repeat his words over and over, because the human mind learns by repetition. We have to change our thoughts which means our words in order to be effective. We have to recognise and be aware of the words we speak as those words/thoughts become flesh in our lives.

-Definitions:
foolishness : unwise, lacking of good sense
pride : satisfaction of one's own achievements, high opinion of one's worth
lewdness : obscene, lustful, indecent, corrupt
blasphemy : treat a sacred subject irrevently(lacking reverence, no religious respect)
deceit : concealing the truth, dishonest trick.
